Kristian Fracchia was born in Brisbane, Australia
in 1994. He is currently studying at the Queensland College of Art Southbank,
majoring in printmaking and drawing. He was elected as President of the
Griffith University Printmakers Club of 2014. Whilst studying Fracchia has
exhibited at Demo, PoP Gallery; Anxiety, Bleeding Heart Gallery; Arrival, Queensland College of Art Webb
Gallery; Changing of the Guard,
Queensland College of Art Project Gallery; Jugglers
Container Festival, Northshore Hamilton and 11:11, Woolloongabba Art Gallery.
His most recent body of work involves collecting
imagery from a number of different sources such as photographs taken whilst
travelling or ones found in old magazines or books. Through drawing from collage
comprised of such selected imagery, Fracchia eliminates any trace of where
these images came from, thereby presenting the viewer with a new reality developed
through ironic juxtapositions.
